Application

PPGI strip stands for “prepainted galvanized steel strip”. It is a metal coil coated on both sides with a coat of paint and primer that provides a protective barrier against corrosion and other forms of damage.
PPGI steel strip is a common material for roofing and cladding applications. The automotive and appliance industries use PPGI rolls to manufacture a variety of components.
PPGI strip is typically made from hot-dip galvanized steel, which is then painted with a coat of paint and cured at high temperatures to create a durable, long-lasting finish. Rolled metal strip undergoes a continuous process of application of organic coating materials according to the requirements of the EN-10169-1 standard.
In this process, each or both sides of the metal surface are cleaned and chemically pretreated. It involves single or multiple applications of powder coating or paint. It is subsequently laminated and cured with a plastic film to ensure the durability of the coating.
The coil coating line runs at a constant speed in the processing area, with a strip collector at the end of each line. It uses an inlet un-coiler, cleaning equipment, primer coating, chemical pretreatment, curing, final coating, outlet accumulator, and outlet recoiler.
The purpose of the coating line is to apply a coat of paint or other finishing material to the metal coil. The process is critical to construction, automotive, and appliance manufacturing, ensuring the durability, corrosion resistance, and aesthetics of metal products.

Description

PPGI steel strips have a zinc coating for excellent corrosion resistance and durability. It is typically used in indoor applications or outdoor applications exposed to harsh weather conditions. PPGI is also known as pre-coated steel sheet or color-coated steel sheet coil, which is made of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, electro-galvanized steel sheet, after the surface is pretreated, one or more layers of organic coating is applied to the surface , then baked and cured. Color steel coils are light in weight, beautiful in appearance, good in corrosion resistance, and can be processed directly. The colors are usually divided into gray, sea blue, brick red, etc., which are mainly used in advertising, construction, decoration, household appliances, electrical appliances, furniture industry and transportation industry. The coating of color-coated steel coil depends on the environment of the selected resin, such as polyester silicon modified polyester, polyvinyl chloride plastisol, polyvinylidene chloride, etc.
