Application

317L stainless steel pipe is a stainless steel pipe produced in accordance with American ASTM standards and is a heat-resistant steel. Its main components include molybdenum, nickel and chromium, with the chromium content ranging from 18.0-20.0%. 317L stainless steel pipe has good corrosion resistance and high temperature strength and is widely used in transportation pipelines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, etc. in chemical, petroleum, food, pharmaceutical and other industries. In addition, it is also commonly used in architectural decoration, furniture, auto parts and other fields. During the production process, 317L stainless steel pipes need to be solution treated at a temperature between 1010-1150°C to obtain good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Compared with traditional carbon steel pipes, 317L stainless steel pipes have longer service life and better safety performance, so they have gradually replaced carbon steel pipes in many fields.

Description

With a composition similar to 316L and 304L, alloy 317L is a low carbon, corrosion resistant austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel. Due to its high molybdenum content, 317L has enhanced resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, especially in environments rich in chlorides or halides.

The chemical and physical properties of 317L stainless steel pipe are as follows:

Chemical properties:

• Strong corrosion resistance: This kind of tube contains high chromium and nickel elements, which makes it has good corrosion resistance to strong corrosive media such as chloride ions and sulfuric acid.
• Good welding performance: it can be connected by various welding methods, such as argon arc welding and electric arc welding.
• High-temperature resistance: it has good high-temperature resistance and can be used for a long time in high-temperature environments.

Physical properties:

The density of 317L stainless steel pipe is moderate, about 7.98g/cm³, which is lighter than ordinary carbon steel pipe, easy to install and transport. Its high strength can withstand high pressure and bending stress. Meanwhile, it has good ductility and can be bent, cut and processed.
