Description
Cold-rolled carbon steel is rolled at room temperature and then rolled again below its recrystallization temperature. This process allows for greater control over the shape, thickness, size, and a more consistent finish of the finished product. Cold-rolled carbon steel is hot-rolled carbon steel that has been further processed. After the hot-rolled steel is cooled, usually at or below its recrystallization point, it is then re-rolled at room temperature to obtain more precise thickness, higher strength and strength, and better surface quality. In addition to changing mechanical properties, the cold-rolling process produces steel with tighter tolerances and greater dimensional accuracy than hot-rolled steel. It also tends to be better suited to lighter gauges and is better suited for applications that require a more visually appealing finish.

Features
Cold-rolled steel is low-carbon hot-rolled steel rolled at room temperature and below the recrystallization temperature. The steel is then descaled and finished by a specific series of rolling to just over the desired thickness, heated to a controlled temperature and finally rolled to the desired thickness. The steel thus produced has tight thickness tolerances (+/-.0015” or better) and a variety of controlled surface finishes. The cold rolling process increases the strength and hardness of the steel while reducing its ductility. Cold rolling not only The mechanical properties can be improved, and the shape and final dimensions of the product can be better controlled.
