Application
321 stainless steel tubing is a Ni-Cr-Ti type austenitic stainless steel, which has properties such as abrasion resistance, high temperature resistance and creep resistance. As a result, it is often used in the manufacture of wear-resistant acid containers, linings for wear-resistant equipment, and conveying pipelines. In addition, 321 stainless steel shows good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, so it is widely used in many industries such as petrochemical, electric power, bridges and automobiles. For its acceptance criteria, you can refer to GB/T 14976, GB 13296, ASTM A312, ASTM A213, JIS G3459 and NE 10216 and other relevant regulations.
Description
In terms of chemical properties:
321 stainless steel tubing is constructed of Ni-Cr-Ti type austenitic stainless steel, which makes it resistant to abrasion, high temperatures, and creep. At temperatures up to 800-1500°F (427-816°C) and chromium carbide precipitation, it still maintains good resistance to intergranular corrosion. In addition, due to the addition of titanium to the composition, the alloy of this material can still remain stable in the case of chromium carbide formation.
In terms of physical properties:
It has high strength and good phase stability with resistance to oxidation peeling and resistance to aqueous corrosion. The material’s excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures make it ideal for the manufacture of steam boiler pipes at high pressures and above. At the same time, it also shows excellent high-temperature stress breaking performance and high-temperature creep resistance. Therefore, 321 stainless steel pipes have been widely used in many industries such as petrochemical, electric power, bridges and automobiles.
